Zachariah earned his Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Washington.  His first teaching position was teaching elementary school music in Singapore from 2012-2014.  He started at Denny International Middle School in 2015.

Zachariah grew up mostly in Fife, Washington, where he attended middle school and high school.  Other than music, he is very passionate about health and fitness and spends a lot of time cooking and weightlifting with his partner.  He has an adorable French Bulldog named Arban (Yes; named after the trumpet pedagogue) and they both enjoy going on walks and hanging out at Dogwood Play Park.  He continues to play trumpet in a number of ensembles for enjoyment, including local Seattle rock band, Seacastle.  He loves the community at Denny and Sealth and hopes to continue to grow the program and give students a positive musical experience.

We are very excited to have Jorge Morales to the music staffing at Denny International Middle School and Chief Sealth International High School. A graduate of the music teacher preparation program at the University of Washington, Mr. Morales is active as a concert pianist, arranger and a composer. He has taught piano for over 10 years and offers lessons to a number of students from the West Seattle area. He was a co-conductor of West Seattle Symphonette and served six years as the orchestra director at Denny before taking a year off. In his time at Denny Mr. Morales was instrumental in getting the Denny afterschool mariachi program off the ground. Morales’ current role includes teaching piano, steel drums, and intermediate jazz ensemble.

  • Brittany Delong
  • Chief Sealth Choir, Piano, and Mariachi
  • bvdelong@seattleschools.org

Brittany attended The College of Idaho, where she earned her Bachelors in Music Education and her Masters of Arts in Teaching. During her time at The C of I, Brittany co-founded the C of I Drumline, and was active in building the small concert and marching band program. Her first teaching job was teaching band at a small K-8 elementary school during the last two years of her undergrad career.

Brittany grew up in south King County attending Federal Way schools, where she was heavily involved in music from preschool onward. She began studying piano privately at the age of nine, and picked up flute in the sixth grade. In addition to her middle and high school bands & a select flute ensemble, she was also an active member of the Seattle All-City Marching Band for nine years, first as a student and then as staff.  Brittany is currently active in area ensembles and volunteers with the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra.  While Brittany is a band kid at heart, she loves the diverse classes she has been teaching at Sealth. She enjoys sharing her love of piano as well as working with the mariachi program, and is eager to bring a choir back to the Denny and Sealth community.
