Building Your Own Hand Drum

To drum or not to drum: Is there a question? No, not really. Not to my way of thinking. I believe we should all be drumming, so much so I recently wrote a short article to encourage people to hunt down a drum circle in their area and start drumming. If there ever was a way of bringing people together, of jumping right over the top of shifty words and ambiguous body language to connect heart to heart, it's through drumming.I'm very fortunate in that I get to host drum circles, and when I do, I'll usually have extra hand drums with me to loan to people who don't have one. Choosing the Best Junior Drum Set to Get Your Child Drumming Early

Junior drum sets, also often known as starter drum sets or kids drum sets, are small sized drum kits that serve a useful purpose as learning instruments suitable for young children and bargains for parents. As opposed to drum kits that you buy in a toy store (that really are 'toys'), a junior drum set is an actual instrument that plays quality sound and are durable enough to take the beating of a young drummer. Buying a junior drum set for a younger player will help them play drums using a real instrument, which in turn will help them develop a love for drums while at the same time learn drumming skills and have fun. What is also nice about junior or starter drum sets is that even though they are high quality instruments, they are usually affordable. There are enough on the market now that you can generally buy one for between $100 and $150. This is far less than the several hundred dollars you would pay for a real drum kit. Plus, junior drum kits usually come with all the accessories needed to start drummin...

Five-Piece Drum Kit Will Help You Feel the Difference

A drum kit is a collection of drums, cymbals and sometimes other percussion instruments, such as a cowbell, wood block, chimes or tambourines, arranged for convenient playing by a single drummer. The 5 piece drum kit represents one of the best available drum sets for the beginners. Different manufacturers include different components in a 5 piece drum kit. Some manufacturer would suggest that a full sized 5 piece drum kit will include cymbals, bass drum pedal, throne, double-braced hardware, drum key. Whereas, other manufacturers would like to include Bass drum, Snare drum, Floor tom, Hi-Hat, Crash cymbal, and Ride cymbal in a 5 piece drum kit. Most entry-level drum kits are made of basswood, poplar, or Philippine mahogany, which is cheaper wood that does not produce a high quality sound. It is perfect for a young teenager just starting out. Higher-end drums use more expensive wood such as birch or maple, which produce a rich, more resonant tone. A brief historyDrums were the original musical instrument, dati...
